After his first band achieved success but fell apart, Todd re-examined his career choice.  He took his computer know how and began engineering albums for other bands.  He regrouped again and became a solo act.  There is always a way.

Todd’s early days in music were with a band called Nazz.  The band had some success but it disbanded by the time he was 21.  He briefly considered computer programming as a career but decided to stick with music.  However, his next encounter was on the other side, using the computer to produce other musical acts.

Starting from the ground up, Rundgren was given folk acts to help along the way.  And then, in 1969 he was promoted to house engineer and given The Band’s Stage Fright album to engineer.  Stage Fright was The Band’s highest charting album to date and dubbed Rundgren, “boy wonder.”

Rundren is one of the first to experiment with electronic music, and progressive rock.  He was also one of the first to use the internet as a system to deliver music.  Todd transitioned back to musician with a solo act.  You might know him from, Bang the Drum All Day.  He has also gathered a cult following.

“There are any number of conditions as to why your life didn’t turn out the way you intended it to.  My whole philosophy has always been that there is no way to change anything else in the world if you don’t have the capacity to change yourself.” –  Todd Rundgren
