Sinatra built his career twice.  Not just once but twice.  His career took a downturn in the mid-forties and he found himself playing in small venues.  Undeterred, he started over and reclaimed his fame.

Frank Sinatra was nicknamed the “Chairman of the Board” as well as “Ol’ Blue Eyes.”  Regarded as one of the most popular entertainers of the mid-20th century, he has sold an estimated 150 million records and his sales are still racking up.

It’s no surprise that Sinatra loved music from an early age.  And at the age of 15, he began singing at family gatherings.  In high school, he would arrange bands to play for school dances.  He, however, left school before graduating.  And it was a series of odd job after odd job.

Frank’s love for performing didn’t wane and he would supplement his short lived jobs with singing for supper or cigarettes.  All the while, Frank’s mother would belittle him for his choices, especially music.  His mother had a will of steel and the two were constantly arguing.  Sinatra’s daughter believed that Frank developed his own steel will and grit to counter his mother’s.  She even believes the grit he developed was the driving force behind his never give up attitude.

Adversity is your alley.

“The best revenge is massive success.” – Frank Sinatra
